Washington Street
“Dramatic planting and a strong fountain”
This garden is defined by its vibrant simplicity; the clients’ guiding principle. Practically, the design began with the need to buffer traffic noise from the adjacent busy street. A contemporary fountain was created from corten-steel to not only buffer outside noises, but unify the side yard and function as a sculptural face on a raised planter. Every plant and material was chosen with intention to maintain the uncluttered look, with a nod to southwestern design that has a special meaning for the clients.
